Hypnotherapy and Psychotherapy are the basis of this Solution focused approach to getting the real you back. In the sessions we focus on solutions for the future through goal settings rather than looking back into your past.

Solution Focused Hypnotherapy is a talking therapy with hypnosis. Hypnosis or ‘trance’ is a very natural, relaxing state, encouraged by using guided relaxation. As your mind relaxes you begin to focus on thoughts and suggestions that might be useful and exploring things in your subconscious which create barriers for you and facilitates inner change.

Hypnotherapy should not be confused with hypnotism which is performed for entertainment purposes. Stage hypnotism involves the use of hypnosis on, for example, members of the audience during comedy and stage shows, whereas hypnotherapy is a type of complementary therapy that uses hypnosis for long-term therapeutic purposes.

Hypnosis is simply a state of focus. We all experience the Hypnotic state in our everyday lives. Have you ever driven home and not remembered anything about the journey? Or whilst watching the Television you don’t hear someone else in the room talking to you?

In trance, your mind is more responsive to suggestion. I may make suggestions of being calm and confident, but the specifics are all your own ideas which result from the talking part of the therapy. During trance, the creative parts of your brain are very active, and you are finding solutions to make your goals possible. We may start with very minor and mundane goals, but they are building blocks to entirely new ways of thinking.

Hypnotherapy is something that is done to you, let’s be clear here, Hypnotherapy cannot make you do anything you don’t want to do.

If you are seeking help with something that has been with you long term it would be fair to suggest it may take at least eight sessions. Sessions will usually start weekly can go to fortnightly or monthly.
